Microgaser´s DriZzleR - Part 4

Microgaser and his brother did some changes ​​to their DriZzleR. They now uses only a 50mm tube. The tube is around insulated. He is working with an ejector. Here are the pictures and the videos from the test run.

We often receive emails from woodgasers. It is often written exactly the same as in the mail before from another woodgaser. I have built a DriZzleR and now there are here and there a few problems. Or I want to build a DriZzleR and need some infos to build. We are not gurus only pure observers. The most inventions where made by the artist and abstract thinking of Luk. Paired with electro-technical feasibilities which were solved by Pascal. It is often written that one is ashamed to publish his pictures or questions. But why ? we all started like YOU!

Immer wieder erreichen uns emails von Woodgas Bastlern. Oft wird genau das selbe geschrieben, was man von anderen in der Mail davor gelesen hat. Ich habe einen DriZzleR gebaut und nun gibt es hier oder da ein paar Probleme. Oder ich möchte einen DriZzleR bauen und brauche Infos. Wir sind keine Gurus sondern reine Beobachter. Allein dem künstlerischen abstrakten Denken von Luk. Gepaart mit elektrotechnischen Machbarkeiten die von Pascal gelöst wurden. Oft wird geschrieben, das man sich schämt seine Bilder oder auch Fragen zu veröffentlichen. Aber warum? Wir starteten genauso wie IHR!

MicroGaser´s DriZzleR Part 3

Microgaser did some changes ​​to his DriZzleR. He now uses a 70mm tube with a length of 300mm. The tube is around insulated with ash. However, there are still some air holes in the outer tube so that the flame is slightly worse than they should be. We are excited to see how the flame looks like seal the air holes. Here you can see the air holes are located under the insulating layer. Otherwise, would not glow the complete ashes.

6 Teststunden sind runter und es gibt noch eine Menge zu tun.

Mein billig China Aggregat zündet die Gemische nur sehr zögerlich und nur dann wenn das Gemisch stimmt

außerdem ist der Fliehkraftregler defekt.

Anmerkung noch zum 50 mm Vergaser,er läuft perfekt allerdings bringt er nicht genug Gas für einen 160 ccm Motor bei Volllast, Bei 70-80 % Last funktioniert es mit Pellets problemlos.

Deshalb habe ich mir ein Honda Aggregat besorgt und bin wieder auf den 70 mm ausgewichen und es läuft alles einwandfrei, leider nehme ich eine Kleinigkeit zu wenig Gas ab, deshalb konnte ich winzige Mengen von Teer im Sicherheitsfilter entdecken werde deshalb auf 60-64 mm zurückgehen.

Sollte der Vergaser an seinem Limit laufen oder kurz darunter wird er keinen Teer produzieren, egal ob man drizzeld oder nicht, das Problem tritt erst dann auf, wenn man nur bei 50 % Leistung den Vergaser laufen lässt. Dann muss man drizzeln sonst gibt es nix als Dreck und Teer.

Zum Rost kann ich nichts sagen, habe ein stinkt normales Lochblech genommen 4*4 mm und ran geschweißt das ist allerdings nur ein Professorium.

Sollte die Glutzone zu weit herunterbrennen (aus versehen) brennt es ein Loch hinein.

Zum überdrehen denke ich das die Temperatur zwar vorhanden ist aber die Verweildauer zu kurz ist oder zu schnell hindurchgezogen wird .

Villeicht ist es auch das Gas oder Teer sich mit dem Sauerstoff oder der Temperatur nicht verbinden oder trennen kann.

so genau weiß ich es auch nicht, aber irgendwas stimmt nicht oder funktioniert nicht.

Durch die extrem hohen Temperaturen habe ich gerade das Problem das sich das Metall abblättert und immer dünner wird.

Mein Verbrauch mit Pellets ist 1.7 kg pro 1 kwh.

Allerdings habe ich die Luft und Gas per Hand gemischt und nur nach Gehör und Leistung,

vielleicht bringt es ja nochmal 10% Einsparung wenn man die Regelung mit Lambda Sonde realisieren kann.

Alternativ schaue ich mich mal nach einem Motoradmotor mit 250 ccm und Wasserkühlung um.

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mir Permanent Magnet Generatoren

MissouriWindandSolar oder einen deutschen Hersteller.

Hat jemand eine Ahnung wie die Effizienz liegt im Vergleich zu Asynchron Generator.

Die wachsende DriZzleR Familie.

Auch Spacepeter hat einen DriZzleR gebaut. Er ist ebenfalls ein Mitglied des Deutschsprachigen HolzGibGas Forums. Er hat einen sehr kleinen Vergaser gebaut. Seine vorherigen Versuche einen Imbert auf diese kleine Gasmenge zu reduzieren schlugen fehl. Sein Vergaser soll später einen kleinen Notstromgenerator mit 1KW betreiben um seine Batterien aufzuladen. DriZzleR build by Holzigas

The DriZzleR´s are not going to stop and shoot up like mushrooms out of the ground ;-) Also Holzigas built one. Holzigas is also a forum member of the german speaking HolzGibtGas Forum. 
After some problem with the DriZzleR with woodchips, he removed the reduction completely. Since then, the chips without problems can be gasified.
 
 He already has a very good woodgas CHP. His existing CHP can be found here:

Die DriZzleR sind nicht zu stoppen und schießen wie Pilze aus dem Boden ;-) Auch Holzigas hat einen gebaut. Holzigas ist auch ein Forumsmitglied des deutschsprachigem HolzgibtGas Forums. Er besitzt bereits ein Holzgas BHKW.  Nach einigen Problemem mit dem DriZzleR entfernte er die Reduktion komplett. Seitdem lassen sich auch die Hackschnitzel ohne Probleme vergasen.

The first step in the making of a small, simple cogeneration unit,

Further improvemend of the waterjacket DriZzleR. Now with better heat-exchanger and with ability to cool the exit gas already within the gasifier. The DriZzleR now produces more warm water and will make it possible to build around him a cheap and simple cogeneration unit, without the need for a watercooled engine. Presumed that together with the heat from the exhaust of a small chinese honda clone one could energise and heat a small house.

WARNING...at 34 seconds in the video is to seen and stated that the exit gas has a temperature of only 72 degrees celcius. After cleanout today and inspection it turned out, this is a false information due to a melted termometer. The temperature of the gas exit is probably higher. However the  rubber seal wich is rated at 250 celcius maximum did not melted so the temperature must been below 250 degrees. Hope to make a new video soon with a more temp resistant thermometer/

Ein weiteren Schritt in dass bauen eines kleines und einfachiges BKHW.

Hier oben ein weiteres video von der wassermantel DriZzleR. Jetz mit verbesserentes wassertauscher und mit nog bessseren mochlichkeit von kuhlen des exit gas in der vergaser selbst. Jetz macht der wassermantel DriZzleR nog mehr warmes wasser und wird es mochlich sein um nur mit die hilfe ein billigen chinesisen luftgekuhlten supermarkt generator ein einfachiges und kostengunstiges BKHW zu bauen. Klein und kompact aber doch kraftig genug um ein kleines haus zu electricieren und zu heissen.

ACHTUNG....Um die 34 secunden in dass video kann mann sehen dass ich behaupte dass dass exit gas nur ein temperatur hatt von 72 grad celcius. Leider ist dass ein fehler dass sich herausgestellt hatt nach die reinigung und inspection von gesteren test. Dass gehause der thermometer war gescmolzen also die temperatur von dass gas war wahrscheinlich hoger. jedenfalls niedriger als 250 grad weil der gummi dichtung mit eine maximum heissausdauer von 250 grad war nog ganz intact und elastisch.

Nachtes test werde ich bestimmt machen mit ein besseren termometer.

Hey All,

After my 4 hour run a couple of days ago, I had some interesting findings. In the 4 hrs only 8 lbs of fuel was consumed. This is way less than any previous runs. I don't know how to measure the flow of gas, but it put out a clear flame that is 2-1/2" in diameter and 18" long the entire time which is usual. The perimeter feed design seems to use a lot less fuel. Then I opened up the ash/char clean out and found nothing but a thin film of brown ash. It wouldn't have made a teaspoon full. I can't explain this. I started poking around in the fuel bed and found a thick rim of hard dense char adhered to the upper portion of the tapered walls. This is just below where the rotating chute drops the fuel. At this point the char bed is 6-1/2" in diameter, but was choked down to about 4". I got to thinking about this and realized that this char was insulating the incoming fuel from the wall heat so I decided to get rid of the tapered walls and form a ring shaped plate at that level so the incoming fuel has a place to land on that is like a shelf. The heat coming out of the char bowl is blasting right on the bottom of this shelf and does a real good job of pyrolyizing the fresh fuel placed there. The scraper on the rotating chute cleans off this shelf every 3 minutes and deposits the hot fuel in the center for further gasification. I also decreased the reduction tube from 3" to 2-/2" in the bottom section where the cone in the char bowl pokes up into it. So now, below the shelf, there is 4" of 4" pipe and then 3" of 2-1/2" pipe before the char bowl. Here is a link to a pic of the modification.

 I also offset the cone by 1/8" in the bowl so it now acts like a mini gyro cone rock crusher. I then added a small 1 RPM BBQ rotisserie motor to the char bowl shaft and set it up on a relay timer so that every time the feed auger rotates once (3 minutes) the char bowl runs for 5 seconds.
Today's run was for two hours and after pouring some very fine char I had saved into the new set up, I lit off the char and let it glow for about 30 seconds, then turned on the auger feed, and 15 seconds later the flare lit and sustained a clear flame for the duration.
